“New Century of Ukiyo-e” echoes the essence of traditional ukiyo-e, inviting a cross-disciplinary collaboration between Japan’s Maywa Denki, the Asian AI creative team Hello Edo!, and Dimension Plus. Together, they construct a multidimensional, immersive visual scroll reflecting the layered realities of the new century and near future. Introduced by a haiku, the piece unfolds in six movements: Seasons, Humanity, War, Artificial Intelligence, Cyberpunk, and Outer Space. Audiences traverse a fantastical scroll shifting between the serene purity of nature and the dazzling spectacle of modern life—transitioning from tranquil landscapes and seasonal changes to the frenzied obsession with material civilization and the explosive chaos of war, where fire and smoke engulf the earth and desire relentlessly drives the wheels of the world forward.
